Privacy notice
Last updated: October 13, 2026. Energy Brain is operated by SecurePath Technologies. Contact info@securepath.tech for privacy questions and access, correction or deletion requests.
What the guide collects
There is no account. The answers you give the guide, such as your home, location, energy use and priorities, are sent to our server so it can rank published offers for you. The ZIP and energy type you enter are also recorded, without any other details, when we have no plan data for them, so we can add coverage. Do not include names, account numbers or other unnecessary personal information in your answers.
Optional AI
When you type a free-text answer, AI may be used to interpret it. These requests go through SecurePath’s self-hosted model gateway, not a third-party AI provider. The gateway keeps prompt and response logs for 90 days, and those transcripts may be used by SecurePath Technologies to improve models. The retention period does not guarantee removal of information already learned by a trained model.
Bills and usage files
Bill upload and AI bill extraction are not enabled. If you choose to import a usage file and confirm the one-time analysis, the file is sent to our server to summarize your usage and returned to your browser; the analysis is not saved, cached or sent to AI.
Plan data
Offers and utility default rates are collected nightly from official state shopping sites (such as PUCO Energy Choice Ohio, NYS Power to Choose, EnergizeCT and Energy Switch Massachusetts) and shown with the date they were checked. Prices are supplier-reported and can change; confirm terms with the supplier before enrolling. Energy Brain does not enroll you in plans and is not paid by suppliers.
Hosting and security
Our hosting infrastructure receives ordinary request information, including IP address, request time, URL, browser information and error status. These logs are used to operate and protect the service. Authorized administrators and infrastructure providers may have access to them.
Analytics
We use Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool that runs on our own servers and is loaded from this website, not from a third party. It sets no cookies, does not track you across other websites and uses no advertising identifiers. It records the page viewed, the referring website, your browser, operating system and device type, and an approximate country derived from your IP address at the time of the request. The analytics service does not store IP addresses. Query strings and URL fragments (the parts of an address after “?” or “#”) are not collected, and browsers that send a Do Not Track signal are not counted. Analytics never receives your guide answers or usage files. Analytics data is not sold or shared with advertisers or other third parties. Aggregated statistics are kept for up to 24 months.
Advertising
We have applied to Google AdSense. Ads are not shown on this site yet, and no ad scripts or advertising cookies are in use today. If ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses cookies in advertising.
Before personalized ads or advertising cookies are used, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent management platform. Visitors in US states with applicable privacy laws will be offered the opt-out those laws provide. Ads will not be placed inside the tools where you edit your own documents, files or finances, and content you enter into the guide is never shared with advertisers.
Your choices and updates
You can use the guide without an account. To ask about server-held information, email info@securepath.tech with the approximate time and page involved. We will update this notice and the date above when our data practices change.
